Fabulous Options

When in the midst of planning there is an abundance of fabulous possibilities. The trends are ever changing, for clarification it helps to do research via the Internet and wedding magazines.

Many of the hotels on Las Vegas Boulevard have full service bakeries within their facilities. Off the Strip there are excellent free standing bakeries as well. If you want something special made. Call and ask if you may send a picture to the bakery. In giving an example of what you would like, it will make it easier for a pastry chef to prepare your dream cake.

Wishing you all the best and most prosperous New Year possible!

Holiday Engagement . . .

What can be more fabulous than getting engaged during the holidays. For some it would be a dream come true.

Where love is true, celebrate it!  Many restaurants and private baquet rooms are available during this season in Las Vegas as certain weeks of December can be a little slow.  Regardless, call around and make the arragements as early as possible.

Enjoy your season!

Reunion!!

For some couples it is fabulous to reunite...have a reunion. They may have had the best thing going and some how it went wrong? With promises to be better than before; at times, partners who have divorced decide to marry each other again.

In this case, it is important to know the two must obtain a new marriage license (certificate) and comply with supplying the appropriate information with regard to any previous divorce(s).

There are many components to consider. Do you include your children? Do you include the original attendants of the wedding? Or, do you two plan a ceremony completely different from the first?

In any case, all the best to you.

Cheers!

A Thanksgiving Wedding

So, you say you are so thankful for the love you have been given that you want to get married on Thanksgiving weekend? Really. I may have asked this before, but can you imagine getting married on Thanksgiving or Thanksgiving weekend? In away there doesn't seem to be a more fabulous time. The family is all together, there is already a plan to have good food, good times and everyone is thankful to be together. It may be the perfect time.

Yes, in Las Vegas you can get married on Thanksgiving weekend. There are chapels open, and I myself have coordinated Thanksgiving weddings a time or two. It's your decsion, you may want to think twice. However, one benefit is the date of Thanksgiving changes every year and your anniversary will not always be on Thanksgiving.  After your special day, Thanksgiving just becomes Thanksgiving and your anniversary is just that, your special day. Think about it and the choice is yours.

I offer you my sincere gratitude on this coming Thankgiving. Your readership and patronage are more than I ever expected. It is my hope that my writing always interests you.

I wish you the best of holidays with your family and friends gathered closely around you.

Cheers!

It may even give you a new understanding of walking on air. For more information: chapelintheclouds.com

Pretty Pictures and Social Media Etiquette

Some of us remember the box cameras which couples purchased for each table so that guests could take photos of the events on their own.  Now in the digital era, there are numerous new ways for guests and couples to share photos of the wedding. With new ways of doing things come new rules of etiquette.

For couples, it is wonderful to post announcements about a change in relationship status or to post a picture of an engament ring; however, it's nice to clue in close family members first. There are many ways to communicate effectively with your wedding party and anyone else you care to inform. Many couples start their own wedding websites to update the party on upcoming pre-wedding and post-wedding events. Likewise, many couples choose a hashtag# for their wedding posts/tweets and ask everyone who posts about their wedding to use it too. To update your social media family during your event, ask someone you trust to post for you.

For guests, it is nice to take photos of things the bride and groom would appreciate seeing later. Years, before I got married. I caught a handheld bouquet at a wedding, I took it home and put it in water and displayed it on the coffee table in my living room. Later I sent a picture of the bouquet to the bride and she really appreciated the thought. One caviat with taking photos at weddings and posting them on social media, be sure that you have the couple's permission first, they may not want to share the day with everyone and they may want to consider the feelings of the people who were not invited.

It's a fabulous time for weddings anywhere in the world and especially in Vegas!

Have a great week!

Style and the Extra Mile

There are lots of ways to have a fabulous Las Vegas wedding. Some choose to go the extra mile, in terms of style.

Consistency is key, carry the color scheme from the invitations through to the ceremony/reception. It should also be reflected in the thank notes.

For a really dramatic effect, ask the banquet facility about chair covers and possibly about draping the room in sheer curtains. I whitnessed a room set for a wedding in a banquet area recently where the room was completely draped in sheer white curtins. The light throughout the room was lavender. The canopy at the center of the room was topped with white roses and lavender hydrangea. It was. . . beautiful.

Thanks again for reading the blog.

Halloween Wedding . . . Anyone?

One of the most fabulous things about being married in Vegas is arriving as you are to the ceremony (within reason). How ever you are dressed or choose to be dressed on your special day is up to you.  In a sense, it's a judgement free zone. Whether you are going in Jeans, pirate costumes or are dressed as a peach and a pear the choice is yours. Trust me the coordinators and ministers have seen it all.

Regardless of what you choose, the ceremony elements remain the same. Your commitment is the same and the love expressed there in, unaffected and unchanged.

I'll talk with you again soon.

Cheers,
Connie

Viva Las Vegas

This trip to Vegas wouldn't be complete without including information on the Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel.  Many, Many couples enjoy having an Elvis impersonator at their wedding. Many Elvi' throughout the city, walk brides down the aisle and sing during the ceremony.  At the Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel, Elvis does all of the above and regularly performs the ceremony as well.  This facility offers much more. There are a variety of wedding chapels to choose from, there is a formal wear shop and a florist on the property.  Likewise, there is a banquet and meeting facility adjacent to the wedding chapels.

The Fabulous Las Vegas Sign

The "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign greets guests as they begin to drive north into the thick of the action on Las Vegas Boulevard. There are parking spaces within the median for those who would like to stop for a picture. Wedding wise, I found many newly weds in line to have someone snap a picture of them. There are also busses that pull up frequently with whole wedding parties formally dressed and ready to the position themselves for some great souvenir photos.

The Biggest Gift Shop in the World

Shopping in Las Vegas is fabulous too!  Keep in mind there are many places to shop on Las Vegas boulevard; however, one place you shouldn't miss is the world's largest gift shop.

An Oasis in the Desert

On my way down Las Vegas Boulevard I stopped in another of my favorite hotels. It is commonly known that the Flamingo was the first upscale resort built on Las Vegas Boulevard. It opened as the Flamingo in 1945 by the notorious Bugsy Siegel.

The buildings of that era are now just a memory and have long since been replaced; however, there are historical markers here and there for those who are interested. If you have the pleasure of walking into their garden area where the pool and Garden Wedding Chapel are located, you will find a tranquil oasis.

The grounds around the outside of  wedding chapel offer nice opportunities for wedding photography. Their facility is as beautiful outside as it is within.   The chapel offers a wide array of wedding packages with dreamy names including the Soulmate and the Fabulous package with offerings which appear to live up to the name.

Have a wonderful weekend.  I will post again soon.

Fabulous Love and Convenience

Part of what makes Las Vegas fabulous is the ease and convenience of planning the preparations with professional planners. This comfortable sentiment carries through to the actual day of the ceremony.

There is one chapel that offers a very unique ceremony. A Little White Chapel offers a "Tunnel of Love" wherein a couple can be married and never have to leave their vehicle.  Yes, the wedding chapel along with its formal chapels has a drive- thru window for ceremonies. Please note, even in a drive-thru ceremony couples must have a marriage licenses and go through all of the normal vows.   Along with their diverse selection of wedding packages the chapel offers a formal rentals service, photography studio and florist on their property.

There is something for everyone, only in Vegas.

Cheers and more to come!!

The Definition of Fabulous

There are many, many wedding chapels in Vegas and all are fabulous in their own way.  During my visit I did stop by the Wynn to visit their chapels and found them to be as beautiful as they are in pictures, just gorgeous. In my humble opinion of course and with full disclosure I did work for Mr. Wynn years and years ago.  Here are the beautiful pictures I took.

More to come . . .

I hope you all are having a good evening.

A Fabulous Poem

I think I'll share one of my fabulous poems with you all.

Two of a Kind

Not exactly the same, but of the same kind.

Not visually so, but viscerally of the same mind.

Two of a Kind

Different and with open hearts we intertwine.

Inspite of what is seen, the invisible ties that bind.

I hope your week is going well. I will report to you in a few days.

Cheers!

Anniversary!

A year ago today, I launched this version of the blog.  I value every wonderful experience which has led me to this point.  Romantics and stories of romance abound, such accounts are documented throughout history and are in fact found in religious texts.

Whether you decide to stop in Las Vegas to renew vows and go on to do so in every state of the union, or travel around the world doing so, you now can imagine the options are endless.  Their real stories are as always, private and the details are something for those who are truly in love to share.

I used this picture today because couples typically save the top tier of their wedding cake to eat on their first anniversary.

All in all,  I am happy to be at your service, writing for you on this subject.

Cheers!

The Color of Roses

Many brides wonder about the appropriate color for bridal flowers. Brides traditionally select white for their bouquet and another color for the additional flowers of the wedding party.

It is helpful to consider the significance of roses when making choices. Roses have been known to have symbolism based on their color. Here are some common meanings:

Red Roses: Beauty, love, perfection.

Pink Roses: Admiration and appreciation.

White Roses: Remembrance, thinking of you.

Orange Roses: Enthusiasm, passion, gratitude.

Yellow Roses: Friendship and getting well.

All in All, I think it's fabulous when couples choose flowers that have personal symbolism or represent the bond between them.

Thank you for reading my blog today.  Have a good weekend.

Fabulous

It is fabulous to talk about weddings. I currently don't speak about marriage after the wedding.  However, I have witnessed many happy marriages and one sign of true love is the relentless pursuit of each others company.

Bellagio

Now you have come to Vegas with the best of intentions and deserve the best venue to celebrate your day. One of my favorite places to be is at the Bellagio. This elegant Italianate structure was inspired by the actual town of Bellagio, Italy and it's Lake Como.

Weddings at Bellagio are set in a variety of locations within two beautiful indoor chapels, weddings are performed in suites within the hotel and on the famous terrace, Il Terrazo Di Vita. Packages are priced from $1,000 to over $10,000 and provide many of the necessary amenities you require.

There are several unique packages including a proposal package. One of the most unique wedding packages is the 12-13-14 wedding package created for Saturday, December 13th of this year.

Transportation!

Many modes of transportation are found in Las Vegas. Whether staying downtown or on Las Vegas Boulevard transportation is accessible.

Some modes are obviously fabulous; however, fabulous is in the eye of the beholder.  The many transportation companies offer a wide array of chauffeured vehicles. Some resorts offer car service to certain guests.  There are many taxi companies and a trolley.  One of the most interesting modes is The Deuce (not necessarily for your wedding day, but for fun) a double decker city bus traveling up and down Las Vegas Boulevard. It is neat to sit on the second floor and look out the front window perusing the lights on a higher level as it cruises down the strip. See the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada RTCSNV for schedules. I would be remiss not mentioned the many standard rental car services available at the airport and in many hotels.  However you decide to travel to your wedding destination, make sure to give yourselves ample time to arrive at the facility as traffic can be heavy, especially on weekends, evenings and holidays.

More Favors!!

In all of your running around, don't forget to thank the friends, family and loved ones for all of the favors they have expended to contribute to your success.  It's absolutely essential to thank them and offer some sort of token of gratitude for all of their efforts.

Bachelor/ette in Vegas!!

Well . . . let's just say there are few more fabulous places to have a bacholor/ette party than in Vegas. Some wedding chapels now offer bachelor/ette events as an enticement for booking your wedding in their facility. Why not do it?  It is certain, you'll have an experience no one will ever forget?

Yes--yes, keep in mind the soul mate out there of whom you are about to marry.  But, watch La Reve, go to Emeril's and dance at Studio 54 until the break of dawn.  You won't regret it!  What ever you do in the name of love, may it succeed.

Have a good weekend and cheers!

The Planning Groom . . .

For some grooms it is fabulous to plan the wedding⸻ it happens quite often.  I think most of us assume the bride or the mother of the bride are the usual planners of this important day.

On occasion, there are grooms that assume the position and make all of pertinent choices. Who else knows the bride better than the proposed intended, right?

I have a few tips for the groom who happens to be making the decisions:

  • Be sure to know what kinds of flowers she would like in her bouquet. Just because she likes daises doesn't mean she would like them in her bridal bouquet.
  • Know her exact size if buying a dress and shoes.
  • Think twice about planning the wedding as a surprise. She may have preconceived ideas for her perfect wedding day.
  • Keep in mind, many grooms who plan weddings are successful and the day goes off just fine.
  • If you are going to do any sort of surprise, surprise her with the proposal.
What ever you do in the name of love, may it succeed.

Cheers and have a great week,

Connie

Exceptional, Impeccable, Nice.

When shopping for a fabulous reception facility there are several things to consider when perusing the options. Exceptional cuisine, impeccable service and a nice venue should be at the top of the list.

Many hotel banquet facilities have banquet chefs on duty to ensure the items on the menu are prepared to a certain standard.  Likewise, there are many catering services that have banquet captains to ensure the quality of the service provided by the wait staff.  At the very least, the hotels offer banquet rooms on par with those found in meeting facilities anywhere.

A location offering all of these things is not hard to find in Las Vegas. However, it may be a good idea to have a referral from the wedding facility or at least from a friend who has hosted an event using the prospective service. When calling be sure that the staff is willing to combine their expertise with your vision of the wedding day.

Have a wonderful week!

Cheers,

Connie
