An Act of Courage

Hold tight the hand of the man who will soon become your newly minted husband. As you flow through the day you are full of hope, trust and lead with a heart overflowing with love. You know it not, but In some regards this day is the ultimate act of bravery. For in your allowance you will be subjected to all the best or the worst life has to offer. You must be prepared in your celebration to withstand which ever of these life has in its coffers. But celebrate, do. I will always wish the world for you. Years upon years of happiness, you two.

Pre-Wedding Dinner

On the evening before the wedding day, many couples host a rehearsal dinner.  However, if your party is small and even if there are no attendants. It is a nice idea to plan an elegant dinner even if it's just for the two of you and your closest well -wishers. Whether the food is catered in or homemade, let it be a time to relax. Play music and feel free of all the details, solemness, and excitement of the wedding day to come.

Brilliantly Beautiful Reunion

Yes! We do make mistakes and some divorced couples realize they absolutely need each other. Together they reconstruct their covenant in a reunion of marriage.

Very often the family will come back together again to witness this marriage for the second time. Some will say, "rightfully so".

With all in favor, the couple must consult the courthouse for a new marriage license and begin their ceremony and life again.

After the Event . . .

There are times when I come upon a fabulous setting beyond description somewhere else in our country and upon seeing it's beauty my breath is stolen just for a moment. Tonight, I witnessed a kind of serendipity. My eye fell upon a wedding scene flanked with lace, vines of white roses climbing columns, crystal chandeliers and under ivy pergolas. All accented with a line of fire. Oh, the wedding business is still full of wonderful potential for original design.  The commitment, words and the level of sanctity are paramount; however, the decor has the ability to speak volumes about a couple's loving spirit. I only wish my camera captured the scene as magnificent as it was in actuality.

Have the best of weeks, my kids say this will be the best week ever.
I have no choice, but to believe them.

Cheers,
Connie

Apache Wedding Blessing

Couples often add romantic poetry or blessings to the ceremony. If not used during the ceremony a piece is usually added to the printed program for guests to read.  The Apache Wedding Blessing is very popular.

Writing your Wedding

Writing a New Age ceremony for some couples is a fabulous idea. Customizing vows which show appreciation, admiration, and fidelity to what has been and what will be, seems normal these days. However, there are some things to consider before lifting the pen.

Writing your own vows and ceremony are an option, depending on what you believe. In the traditional religions of the world, the ceremony is a fixed set of words, songs, and actions. In many Las Vegas wedding chapels, you may find it possible to at least add your own words to some part of the officiant's established ceremony. You must let the staff know in advanced in order for the officiant to make adjustments to his own words, prayers and blessings. Your chosen chapel may ask for a written copy of your vows or ceremony several weeks in advance.

The officiant's ceremony is usually minimally customized, but it is primarily written to fit the time frame of the purchased wedding ceremony.  A 30-minute block of time in the chapel may result in a 12-15 minute ceremony, allowing time for photos afterward.

Some couples who write their own vows or have religious traditions which require an extension should consider purchasing a larger block of time in the chapel.  Chapel time is usually based on availability.

Good luck and all the best to you and yours in the planning of this momentously joyful event.

Cheers!

Dance, I hope you'll dance.

So, you are going to invite guests to your fabulous Vegas wedding. In this case, I always say you should give them a good time for traveling across the miles. The Vegas wedding I attended this weekend went over and beyond the imagination. There were two different bands and a DJ who took turns entertaining the couple and guests as they danced the night away.

Hispanic Wedding Tradition - Lasso

The tradition of placing a double looped Lasso is a Hispanic and Filipino wedding tradition. The Lasso is placed over the wedding couple after the vows are said.  The Lasso is a symbol binding the couple together similar to the lighting of the unity candle. Many couples add believe the Lasso is representative of God's unification of the two in marriage.

There's so much more to tell . . .

Every time I meet someone who says they are getting married in Vegas, I realize there is so much more to tell. Not only are all the traditions evolving all the time, but there are new traditions being made daily.  Each culture has it's own particular wedding traditions many of which are adaptable to varying types of ceremonies.
