Fabulous Weddings-Fabulous People

Sometimes fabulous weddings happen and  fabulous people can't be there, for whatever reason.  This happens on a occasion, if the family is back home it's possible to take the DVD or your own recorded video back to show at a reception or family event.  Couples will also have someone hold a cell phone that is placed on speaker so that the missing person can hear the wedding live.  Other times, the person really isn't around and many people will choose to have an additional taper candle lit at the front of the Chapel to represent them.  Also, I have seen couples bring everything from someone's hair comb to pictures placed in a seat where the person should be sitting.  In any case, the wedding is still about the two people that are present and the fabulous life they will make together.

Fabulous at any Age

Please know that you are never too old  to have a fabulous wedding in Vegas.  Really, I have seen brides and grooms in their 90s that met and decided to marry.  The process is the same, the dress may be different  and the pace may be slower.  However, it just proves that there is no expiration date on finding happiness.

Have a good weekend.

Cheers!

Edgy

Being edgy can be just as fabulous as being traditional.  Sometimes it's more fabulous. When we step out of the norm we show more of who we are created to be.  If everyone ordered the same cake, used the same dress and style of bouquet it just wouldn't be as much fun.  Part of the suspense at weddings is to see everything that the couple has chosen from the gown to the venue.  There are so many decisions to make and it can be challenging, but at the minimum if you are thinking of being married in Vegas you are thinking outside of the box already.

Thank you for reading my blog

Style and Color

Once a color scheme is chosen for a wedding, it is important to be consistent with the theme and use those colors for more than just the wedding party's attire.  The design of the wedding cake, invitations, the flowers for the ceremony and for the reception all should tie into your color palette.  Many wedding facilities in Las Vegas will be happy to assist you with making your wedding dreams come true.  Although, you have to actually know what your dream is in order for it to be fulfilled.  If you are dealing with a venue where you will be custom ordering flowers and decor for the reception, it's important to give a clear vision of what you will be expecting on that day.  Most couples who marry in Vegas live in other states and countries and only see the chapel and their selections on the day of the event. Giving clear direction is essential, especially when choosing a color or pattern that is unusual.  It would be best to ask if you can send the venue a picture or swatch of the material that you are using for the dresses, vests or ties. Bride's even send pictures of bouquets and cakes that are unique so that the staff can evaluate whether they can provide what you are asking them to prepare.  In the end, it's worth it to do the extra thinking and leg work to ensure that after traveling across the miles your day will be fabulous!

Zagat's 10 Best Restaurants in Las Vegas (reblogged)

Vegas has become a hub for restaurants offering first class cuisine. Some of the most popular chefs in America have restaurants within the casinos here.  You'll have to experience it for yourself because having a dinner party or wedding meal at one of the most renowned restaurants in Vegas is fabulous.  I posted this link last year as it showed some really beautiful pictures and fantastic information on the 10 best restaurants available at the time.

Bride and Dad's Best Comments

I have so many great stories to tell about my experiences in this industry and I am so grateful that I was given the chance to experience these special moments in so many peoples lives. It is fabulous when a father walks a bride down the aisle before the ceremony, symbolically giving her away. It's touching because there are so many little comments that are made before the doors are opened and the bride walks into her new life. There are little assurances from the dad that this will be a wonderful time in her life, that she's chosen the right one or that they still can go out for ice cream from time to time. The groom waits at the front with the officiant and the groomsmen for the doors to open and the music of their choosing should start to play.  Coordinators will always ask if a bride is ready to walk down the aisle before opening the doors. When brides think they are ready sometimes they will say "open the doors...no wait....okay open....wait and finally she is ready to be presented". It's understandable this is a big moment and the beginning of their ceremony and she is the focal point as she walks down the aisle.  Technically speaking, the father or some other representative generally walks on the right, she takes his arm and when the two arrive at the groom, the father shakes the groom's hand and then takes his daughter's hand and puts it into the groom's. This is not a crucial part of the whole process,  there are lots of scenarios, sometimes the mother walks the bride down the aisle, sometimes the bride walks alone and sometimes couples walk together.  I've even seen a groom walk into the bride.  In any case the wedding can still be fabulous!

Happy planning and have a wonderful day!

Cheers,

A Popular Question.....

A lot of people ask about the time frame in which people are normally married in Vegas. Most are surprised to know that many weddings are planned well in advance of the date.  Sometimes a year or more in advance.  There are people who plan weddings within a week or weekend, it actually happens all the time.  I have seen thousands of weddings and I appreciate each story for its individual beauty.  Only they know what is happening inside their relationship and that's the way it should be. As far as anyone can see these are people that feel they are marrying their best friend or simply someone that they never want to walk out of their lives and they call it love.
